This bold red delivers mouthfilling flavors of cherry, kirsch, licorice and dark chocolate, backed by firm tannins and sweet-tart acidity. Fruit-forward in character, this stays fresh and bright through the finish. Drink now through 2020. 1,000 cases made.

The 2014 L’Estel is a blend of Garnacha, Cariñena and Syrah from limestone-rich soils fermented in a combination of stainless steel tanks and barriques and matured in oak for some eight to ten months. The harmonious nose is a mixture of wild berries, flowers and spices, clean and focused. The palate showed fine tannins and a silky texture, elegant and approachable. Delicious. 2,965 bottles produced.
I already see an improvement on the wines of Herencia Altès, which I already found impressive last time. A name to keep in mind for Terra Alta.
